While health was also addressed by Swiss cooperation in Albania in the past, it has gained traction with the new strategy. The main goal is to improve health for the Albanian population thanks to improved access to higher quality and better managed health services. Swiss intervention will seek to promote a health system reform by mobilising the government, donors and other actors, towards better management and service provision. Special attention is given to expanding access of vulnerable groups to health care and to raising the health consciousness among citizens.
