Innovative agricultural intelligence e-platform to assist banks, farmers and agribusinesses

Swiss-supported RisiAlbania and Creative Business Solutions launched the Agricultural Information and Intelligence System (AGIS) to provide accurate data to banks seeking to credit agribusinesses

The new Agricultural Information and Intelligence System e-platform was presented live to Albania's Minister of Agriculture, the Ambassador of Switzerland and representatives from Bank of Albania, INSTAT, banks and financial institutions, universities, research centers and international partners.

Swiss Ambassador in Albania Christoph Graf underlined the private public partnership character of this initiative: “As representative of Switzerland, I am pleased that we are able to provide a modest support for the agricultural sector in Albania, and in an area that is close to a Swiss mind: banking and finance”, said Ambassador Graf. Regarding the relationship between this new e-platform and creation of job opportunities for young people in agriculture sector, he added that “Through RisiAlbania project, Switzerland aims to increase employment opportunities, especially for the youth. Therefore, I hope to see increased bank credits for agriculture, and as a result, increased number of young people employed in agriculture”.

The Minister of Agriculture Edmond Panariti commended the partnership of Swiss-supported RisiAlbania Project and Creative Business Solution for the successful launch of the Agricultural Information and Intelligence System. "The statistical agricultural information given on this platform is a starting point for any investment in agriculture. We need reliable statistics, to bring serious investors in agriculture", said Minister Edmond Panariti.

The Executive Director of Creative Business Solutions, Mr. Enio Jaçio, presented the vision on maintaining a sustainable e-platform on agriculture data through regular updates, improvements, expansion into other sectors and strong partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, INSTAT and Bank of Albania.

The Agricultural Information and Intelligence System - AGIS - is a unique and integrated e-platform and provides a wealth of information necessary for the banks in order to invest or loan to farmers and agribusiness entrepreneurs.
