Emergency Support for Civil Society and Media
Switzerland remains committed to strengthen democratic values, transparency and participation as an indispensable part of the European integration process of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Due to the current challenges that civil society and independent media are facing, many organizations are experiencing financial difficulties that put the continuity of their operations at risk.
In response to this extraordinary situation, the Embassy of Switzerland in Bosnia and Herzegovina is temporarily adjusting its Small Actions Programme to provide emergency support to critically affected civil society organizations and independent media.
Support to independent media
The Embassy will channel its support to independent media through the Association Umbrella. For more information, please consult Umbrella.
Support to civil society
The amount for emergency funding is limited. Support will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications will be assessed based on the following criteria:
- Financial urgency – the severity of the organization's financial situation.
- Impact on communities – the extent to which the organization’s work benefits society.
- Sustainability – the organization’s ability to maintain operations beyond the emergency support.
We encourage civil society organisations to form partnerships for sharing costs and applying jointly for funding.
