The exhibition ‘Cosmos Archaeology: Exploration in Time and Space’, jointly organized by the Embassy of Switzerland in China, the National Museum of China (NMC ), and the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, with support from the Department of Astronomy and the Academy of Arts & Design at Tsinghua University, was officially unveiled at the NMC on July 2nd. This is the first Swiss exhibition held at the new NMC since its opening and marks a highlight in the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Switzerland and China.
The exhibition brings together no fewer than 233 exhibits by 49 artists from the Collection de l’Art Brut, as well as pieces by four self-taught Chinese artists. It is the first comprehensive research-based presentation of the development of Art Brut in China.

The Leica workshop will consist of a walk through Hong Kong learning how to produce powerful imagery with your camera by searching for light, colours and people. Dominic will give tips and advice along the way. He will also talk about his assignments with National Geographic, Time Magazine and others around the globe and in conflict areas.

The trio 1000 Dance Postures Before Hanging Oneself is an ensemble of many facets: a music band, a theatre piece, and a dance performance. Its leading Lausanne-based musician, Jamasp Jhabvala, will tour China in December 2016.In these concerts in 11 cities in China, 1000 Dance Postures offers experimental theatrical rock, while Jamasp Jhabvala gives an electro-acoustic solo with amplified violin.
Design Prize Switzerland and the leading Swiss Universities of Applied Arts and Design invite you to explore practice -based educational approaches that cope with the rapid transformations of design. New basis of knowledge, possibilities, globalisation and the influence of design are evolving at a fast pace. “What does it take to be a good graphic designer these days?” ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne has long been recognised for its role in advancing Switzerland’s tradition of leading graphic design. Be it books, catalogues, magazines, posters, typography or digital projects, ECAL graphic design students demonstrate their mastery of elegance and subtlety.
