The consultation workshops would focus on having a discussion on potential climate change adaptation measures for Kullu district. This follows the development of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) based on a vulnerability and risk assessment and extensive consultations  for adapting to climate change. Once operationalized the activity aims at demonstrating science based adaptation actions. The consultation workshops provides an opportunity for stakeholders to provide feedback before the DPRs are submitted by the Government of Himachal Pradesh to various national or international climate finance sources.

The workshops are being organized by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) under the Indian Himalayas Climate Adaptation Programme (IHCAP) in partnership with the Department of Environment, Science and Technology, Government of Himachal Pradesh. At Kullu, while SDC will be represented by Ms. Janine Kuriger, Director of Cooperation, Sh. Hans Raj Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner, Kullu, will represent the Government of Himachal Pradesh. At the workshop in Shimla SDC will be represented by Ms. Janine Kuriger, Director of Cooperation, while Sh. Tarun Kapoor, IAS, Principal Secretary, will represent the Government of Himachal Pradesh.

Participation by invitation only.
