Launch of the Guidelines for Energy Efficient and Thermally Comfortable Public Buildings in Karnataka on 20th September 2016

An international conference on “Energy Efficient Building Design: Experiences and Way Forward” is being organized by the “Indo-Swiss Building Energy Efficiency Project” of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) with an objective to provide a platform for knowledge exchange and experience sharing on some of the key aspects of building energy efficiency. It will bring together around 200 building energy experts, practitioners and other stakeholders from India and other developing countries. Spread over two and a half days, the conference will start with an inaugural session followed by 5 thematic technical sessions based on the areas of intervention under BEEP. The technical sessions will focus on:

  • Integrated design for energy efficient buildings: Design processes & Results

  • Energy efficient residential buildings: Potential & Approaches

  • Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings: Design & Retrofit

  • Energy Efficient Building Envelope: Systems & Performance

  • Low Energy Cooling Technologies: Systems & Performance 

The concluding session will focus on the way forward for Indian in this field. This conference will also host an exhibition showcasing the various activities undertaken along with technological products developed under BEEP. Several BEEP knowledge products will be launched during the event.
