The Swiss Director Lionel Baier will visit India on occasion of the “Film Festivals from Europe”, festival in New Delhi, Pune and Kolkata. His award winning film “La Vanité”, will be screened in his presence in all three cities. Additionally Lionel Baier will conduct master classes on film making and engage with an open discussion on his films after the screenings.

About Lionel Baier: Born in 1975 in Lausanne, Switzerland, Lionel Baier is a jack of all trades. He blurs fiction with reality and connects the universal to the intimate. He studied Arts at the University of Lausanne, then worked as an assistant director for various films and commercials. Since 2002, he is Head of Cinema Department at the École Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne (ECAL). He co-founded the production company Bande à part Films, co-manages the Rex Cinema in Aubonne and has several films to his credit.

La Vanité, which was screened at the Locarno Film Festival 2015, received best actor and best supporting actor awards, nominated for the best francophone film in 2016.
