
Designed by one of the masters of 20th century modern architecture; Le Corbusier, the main building of “The National Museum of Western Art, Tokyo” has been classified as a heritage of UNESCO since 2016.To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the museum, and to discover the origins of Le Corbusier’s world heritage architecture, a special exhibition will take place. This exhibition focuses on the 10 years during which young Charles-Édouard Jeanneret (Le Corbusier’s given name) lead the age of Purism movement in Paris, after having left Switzerland. His various activities during that period, such as painting, architecture, urban planning, publishing and interior design, are introduced.
