Please note that only complete visa applications will be accepted by the Embassy of Switzerland for processing.

If the visa application file is not complete as per the requirements or if the allotted time of the appointment is not respected, a new appointment will be necessary; this might delay your travel plans.

Therefore, this Embassy does not undertake any responsibility regarding the service given by the presumed agents or agencies. Complaints have to be addressed directly to them or to the concerned Jordanian police authority.

In order to start the online visa application process, please visit the web-site www.swiss-visa.ch and fill out an online application form with your personal information as well as the information pertaining to your upcoming trip.

Please note that group appointments are not possible - please register each application individually and set individual appointments. Please be aware that the booking of appointment is free of charge. 

At the end of the process, please open the PDF format document and print, date and sign your application. Then press “send” in order for the application to become active.

At your appointment, please submit the printed application form along with your passport, 2 passport pictures, the equivalent of 60 EUR in JOD in cash and the required supporting documents as per the list of requirements. 

The visa desk does not allow walk-ins. Each individual applicant requires an appointment. This also applies to each member of a group application. No appointments can be scheduled by e-mail, at the counter or by phone.

We kindly ask you to schedule only one appointment per person. Please do not schedule several appointments for yourself. This leads to long waiting times for all visa applicants. Only in emergency situations will we be able to reschedule an existing appointment. If you need to cancel your appointment, please send an email to amm.visa@eda.admin.ch with the Subject: Visa Appointment Cancellation.

The Embassy strongly advises to read the requirements relating to the visa type you wish to apply for and prepare the requested application form and all the supporting documents in advance. Please note again that only complete applications will be processed. Should the application be incomplete, a new appointment will be needed in order to resubmit the application

Visa applicants will be received by appointment only.

After filling out the application online, an automatic generated e-mail with a link will be sent to the e-mail address you provided.

Please click on the link and select an available appointment at your convenience. Group appointments are not possible - please register each application individually and set individual appointments.  

Due to the high demand, it is strongly recommended to arrange the appointment on a timely manner at least 45 days prior to your departure. Once an application is submitted, the processing time can take at least 14 days till 4 weeks depending on the application.

Please note that if the visa applications are not submitted on a timely manner, delay in travel plans may incur.

In accordance with current Schengen rules, citizens of non-Schengen countries, regardless of their visa obligation status, may enter and remain within the Schengen Area without a residence permit for up to "90 days per 180-day period starting from the date of first entry."

Starting on 18 October 2013, these rules will be changed so that stays within the Schengen Area without a residence permit will be possible for up to "90 days over any 180-day period."

This change means that the 180-day period (i.e. reference period) will no longer correspond to 180 days following the date of first entry, but rather to the 180 days prior to the control date (border control upon entry into or departure from the Schengen Area, or police check within the Schengen Area). In other words, the duration of stay must not exceed at any time 90 days per 180-day period.

These new rules will not affect most travelers. However, they could have an impact in some situations (e.g. frequent stays in the Schengen Area). Stays that are permitted under the current rules may no longer be possible under the new rules (see examples in the PDF file below).
