The SDC Myanmar Health and Social Inclusion program helps conflict and disaster affected people to safely and securely use community infrastructure, by (re)building schools that withstand cyclones in the Ayeyarwaddy Delta and by (re)building schools, health centers and clean water systems in the southeastern states. Basic services will be provided that target the specific needs of ethnic minorities, internally displaced persons, refugees and host communities. Local governance and citizen participation are strengthened.
The health gap between rich and poor continues to widen. In many parts of the world, the progress that has been achieved in public health over the years is being reversed.
