Pakistan: SHARP, Integrated Protection and Legal Assistance for Afghan Refugees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (IPLAAR)

Project completed

With approximately 1.4 million registered and around 0.7 million undocumented Afghan refugees, Pakistan hosts one of the world's largest refugee populations. Afghan refugees and undocumented Afghans face resentments and limited freedom of movement in Pakistan due to their status of stay and strict border control measures. Given the limiting asylum space, there is a need for aqn improved protection environement for Afghan refugees. SDC through its partner SHARP contributes legal assistance to over 130'000 refugees and relevant capacity building to government officials.
