Swiss Embassy, ADB sign agreement to support National Disaster Risk Management Fund

'Human Rights Film Tour' launched in Pakistan to commemorate the 70th year of UNDHR

Islamabad: The Universal Declaration of Human Rights entered the 70th year of its existence on 10 December 2017, the International Human Rights Day. The Embassy of Switzerland commemorated the event with the official launch of ‘Human Rights Film Tour’ that will bring six human rights films to 45 countries over the next one year. On this occasion, Geneva-based International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights’ (FIFDH) Director Isabelle Gattiker and filmmaker Juan José Lozano presented the documentary ‘Crime Hunters’ at Lok Virsa in Islamabad.

Ambassador-designate of Switzerland to Pakistan Thomas Kolly presented his diplomatic credentials to Pakistan’s President Mamnoon Hussain on Thursday at a ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr (President House). Mr. Kolly arrived in Pakistan on 13 September 2017 after his predecessor Marc P. George completed his two-year tenure as ambassador in Pakistan.

Swiss, Pakistani museum officials discuss long-term collaboration

Dr. Johannes Beltz of Rietberg Museum, Zürich, Switzerland, held consultations on long-term collaboration with officials of the Department of Archeology and Museums of Pakistan. Swiss and Pakistani museum officials have agreed to bring artifacts from Pakistan to Switzerland for exhibition. The discussions resulted in a draft agreement, which will be signed by the two parties after approval from their respective legal departments.
