The Serbian Minister informed the Vice Director of SDC about the achievements in the reform process when it comes to strengthening institutions and application of European standards – this improves democratic norms and modernizes the Serbian society and the country as whole. During the meeting, it has been stressed that joint engagement of Switzerland and Serbia is necessary in strengthening the capacities of municipalities and cities in using development funds, in cooperation with the regional development agencies.

The Vice Director of SDC stated that Switzerland is ready to contribute to the European accession process of Serbia. She also expressed satisfaction with the ongoing activities in defining the Multi-annual planning document for the period 2019-2025 that focuses on development assistance. Huber highlighted that the Swiss cooperation Strategy with Serbia for the period 2018-2021 has a total budget of EUR 95 million and focuses on three fields – Governance, Economic development and employment and Sustainable energy and resilient cities – with the aim of contributing to Serbia’s inclusive and sustainable growth and supporting country’s reforms and path to European integration for the benefit of all citizens.
