Federal Councillor Johann Schneider-Ammann, Head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research, visited London on 2 November to officially launch the CTI Market Entry Camp UK; a start-up incubator assisting young Swiss companies with their expansion into the UK market. Following an introduction from Ambassador Dominik Furgler, the Federal Councillor opened the event, highlighting the importance of a supportive policy framework for start-ups and outlining how innovation drives competitiveness and job growth.

Three Swiss start-ups, Oviva, Fanpictor and Goodwall, presented their companies to the audience of journalists, investors, and tech specialists from the UK start-up scene, and the event concluded with a networking session.

Earlier in the day Mr Schneider-Ammann met with Lord Maude, UK Minister of State for Trade and Investment, to discuss red-tape reduction and bilateral economic affairs.
