The Embassy of Switzerland will be closed on Wednesday 2 October 2024 for an internal event.

The reception desk of the Regional Consular Centre (RCC) is open on working days between 09:00 and 12:00 for procedures where a physical presence is necessary, i.e. for marriage preparations, naturalization interviews and legalizations. All other consular matters are being dealt with by email and post. The previous walk-in service is no longer available.

Please contact the RCC in a timely manner to make an appointment. Only visitors with an appointment are allowed to enter the Embassy’s premises.

Passport and identity card applications

The Regional Consular Centre continues to experience very high demand for new passports/ID cards. We strongly recommend that you start the application process early, as it may take longer than usual to renew your Swiss identity documents.

The new Swiss passport and/or ID card will be valid from the date of issue, not the date of expiry of the current passport/ID card.

Booking any trips abroad while you do not hold a valid passport/ID card is at your own risk.
