Integrated Monitoring of Water and Sanitation related SDG targets (GEMI)

Water scarcity and declining water quality are a problem in almost all countries. More comprehensive information on their current status and trends would enable Member States to better make evidence-based development decisions for sustainable development, management and use of sanitation and water resources. The 6th Sustainable Development Goal of the 2030 Agendawill provide a unique opportunity to address the multiple and growing challenges associated with sustainable water and sanitation. This includes the need for a coherent and holistic monitoring framework with improved data acquisition and the analysis to track progress.

République Centrafricaine (RCA) – OCHA – Common Humanitarian Fund (CHF)

Le CHF est un fonds commun multi-bailleurs géré par le Coordinateur humanitaire (HC), en consultation avec la communauté humanitaire sur le terrain. Regional and Municipal Infrastructure Development in Georgia

The project will increase human and institutional capacities of all municipalities in Georgia (except the capital city Tbilisi). lt will enable them to perform independently the core three functions for decentralised delivery of basic infrastructure services, i. e. Project Cycle Management, Financial Management and Asset Management. Such a decentralized System will enable the Government to better respond to population needs at local level.

La contribution au Programme d’Education du LARES (ex-RECADEL) est un outil d’amélioration de la réussite éducative des filles et des jeunes femmes qui favorise leur insertion socio-professionnelle. Il vise à influencer les politiques et pratiques éducatives au Bénin. En effet, l’équité dans l’accès à l’éducation de base et à la formation professionnelle des jeunes femmes et leur maintien dans le système, notamment dans le département du Borgou, ne sont pas toujours assurés par l’Etat.

Contribute to the Improvement of the overall protection environment for displaced-, returnees- and host communities

As a result of the weak nature of the state, which has kept institutions, in particular defence and security, weak and fragmented, the state is unable to protect people and their livelihoods. DRC has implemented protection activities, supported by SDC, in two different areas of North Kivu province since August 2013. It has become clear that in order to obtain a lasting impact and to seriously reinforce the capacity of the target communities in regards to awareness of their rights, it is of utmost importance to continue to work with the affected communities over an extended period of time.

Together with the SDC, MeteoSwiss has committed itself to improving the climate information base worldwide. High-quality, long-term climate measurement series can be used to estimate the consequences of climate change and to provide a greater understanding of the related opportunities and risks. The project has now come to an end after five years.

Increase the integrity of prosecutors and prosecuting the new challenges in organized crime

The project aims to strengthen the integrity, the legal and institutional capacity of Bulgarian Prosecutors in investigating and prosecuting organised crime. The project is in line with the national priorities and strategies in fighting organized crime and is directly targeting judiciary reforms and priorities entailed from the European Commission Reports on the Progress under the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism (CVM). ACF - Livelihood rehabilitation leading to resilience building in vulnerable (agro-)pastoralist communitiesEmergency sanitation response, Lietchor refugee camp, Gambela Region

Implemented by ACF the project enhances drought affected Somali and Borana communities to better mitigate the effects of drought and build their resilience by improving their potential for exploiting new and traditional sources of food and income generation whilst enabling them to conserve and protect natural resources based on customary knowledge and practices. In addition, ACF will provide emergency sanitation in Lietchor camp for the newly arrived South Sudanese refugees.

Enhancing the effectiveness of UNICEF programming

The planned Research Programme for Child Well-Being and Development aims to promote innovative, evidence-based research, which will contribute to increasing UNICEF’s and other partners’ effectiveness in addressing child-specific development challenges. The Research Programme is established at the University of Zurich and funded by SDC, the UNICEF Suisse and private sector foundations.
