Integrated child protection and education in emergencies intervention for displaced and Conflict-Affected Children and Families in Gaza and the West Bank

Switzerland, through its partner Terre des Hommes Foundation Lausanne, supports the provision of critical child protection and education in emergencies services to conflict-affected children in the West Bank and Gaza. Contesto Violence, displacement, and a systemic collapse of essential services have marked the Gaza Strip since the outbreak of the war in October 2023, whereas in the West Bank humanitarian needs and protection concerns are also increasing. In both contexts, children are among the most affected: surveys reveal high fear, trauma, and hopelessness among children, increased levels of anxiety, depression, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In addition, children in the Gaza Strip have been deprived from access to education and safe learning environments, with the formal school system shut down since the start of the war. Across both contexts, safety, education and psychosocial wellbeing are under acute threat, making childfocused, integrated child protection and education in emergencies interventions an urgent priority.
Obiettivi Vulnerable children and families affected by conflict in Gaza and the West Bank are protected from violence, abuse, and exploitation, and have safe, equitable access to psychosocial support and learning opportunities, delivered through a community-led response system that can adapt to ongoing and future emergencies.
Gruppi target 17’000 conflict-affected children, youth and their caregivers.
