Sudan, IFRC, Center of Competence for Humanitarian Negotiation (CCHN), operational plan 2025 – 2026

Following the outbreak of armed conflict in Sudan on 15 April 2023, the CCHN organized emergency ad hoc support for Sudan consisting of weekly sessions and online capacity building workshops dedicated for staff expecting to surge into Sudan. As armed conflict persists in Sudan, it is vital to address the needs on the ground to enhance the effectiveness of humanitarian responses. The initiatives organized by the CCHN provide a foundational framework for a robust support mechanism aimed at building capacities within the humanitarian community.


The Swiss Alliance for Global Research Partnerships (GRP-Alliance), former KFPE

The Swiss Alliance for Global Research Partnerships (GRP-Alliance) is the only network in Switzerland that strengthens equitable and effective research collaborations between Swiss researchers and researchers in low- and middle-income countries. It contributes to the achievement of the SDGs around the world by promoting Swiss academic excellence for international cooperation and strategically supporting evidencebased policy making.

REDOG is an important partner of Swiss Rescue (SUI-01) provides emergency relief (RR) with search specialists, consisting of dog handlers and search dogs, specialists for technical search and specialists for search-coordination. The mission is to ensure the search and location of buried victims after earthquakes during emergency relief operations (as members of the Swiss Rescue and/or an Emergency Response Team (SET-Modul Search). 


Support to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) – 2025-2028

Over one hundred countries are experiencing  the impacts of desertification and  land degradation, posing significant challenges to the livelihood of their populations and to sustainable development. Party to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification, Switzerland provides a core and an additional voluntary funding to contribute specifically to shared priorities and strengthen global efforts to combat desertification and land degradation in low- and middle-income countries, particularly in Africa.

Sie bietet wichtige Dienstleistungen an – wie etwa Echtzeit-Risikomanagement und Sicherheitsschulungen um sicherzustellen, dass Helfer ihre Unterstützung sicher und effizient leisten können.

The World Bank’s Health Enhancement and Lifesaving (HEAL) project contributes to the financing of Ukraine’s Health system with a focus on alleviating the negative consequences of the war. HEAL helps to restore and improve access to mental health and physical rehabilitation services and to modernize hospital care. Continued access to essential health services is critical for the people of Ukraine considering the continued war.


Tchad-MSF Ensuring access to healthcare

This contribution aims to strengthen the emergency response for refugees and returnees fleeing the conflict in Sudan, as well as vulnerable host communities in Eastern Chad. By ensuring access to quality healthcare and providing essential water, sanitation, and hygiene services in Adré and Aboutengué/Ourang camps, it seeks to reduce disease and mortality while improving living conditions and resilience.

Amid mounting threats and dwindling resources, strengthening the WHO's core functions, especially in fragile contexts and in low- and middle-income countries, is crucial for safeguarding health equity, and protecting health security worldwide, while promoting Switzerland's priorities and Geneva's role in global health governance.


Supporting the Security Sector Reform (SSR) Process in The Gambia

This second phase focuses on improving institutional efficiency, accountability, and gender equality within the reformed Gambia Immigration Service, to the ultimate benefit of border communities and migrants. 


MSF Emergency Response SUD Crisis Regional, Nachtragskredit (NK)

This contribution aims to support MSF’s emergency response to the needs of refugees and returnees having fled the war in Sudan as well as host communities in Eastern Chad and South Sudan. By ensuring access to quality healthcare and providing water and sanitation services for refugees as well as host communities in Adré and at Aboutengué/Ourang camp, in Chad, and in Renk, South Sudan, this project contributes to reducing illness and mortality rates among the conflict-affected people and improve t heir living conditions.


Global: Climate Action Accelerator, Core Contribution

The Climate Action Accelerator (CAA) is a Geneva-based non-profit initiative which supports the humanitarian sector in its efforts to reduce carbon footprint and to contribute to global climate goals. CAA supports partners both technically and strategically in the transformation of policies and practices. By empowering systemic actors, it aims at creating a positive domino effect towards a humanitarian sector with low carbon, sustainable and resilient responses.

Additional Allocation of SDC Funding (Africa Division) in 2025 to ICRC Operations in DRC, Chad, Sudan, South Sudan, Mozambique

SDC funding to ICRC operations allows the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to respond proactively and to provide immediate protection and assistance for people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence. In line with the Good Humanitarian Donorship (GHD) principles, Switzerland recognizes the necessity of predictable and flexible funding to respond to changing needs in humanitarian crises.
