The prevention of violent extremism at the national and local level has become a matter of national security. Eliminating the root causes of “local radicalisation” means therefore to foster collaboration among all societal stakeholders, notably within the education sector.

How can radicalisation be better addressed through more effective training of teachers in schools and vocational education establishments? How can we engage more systematically with other stakeholders including civil society organisations that are working with young people? Should the continuous education of imams in European universities be promoted by the state?

What are the policies implemented in Switzerland, in the EU and within Member States to prevent radicalisation? Is there room for coordination or even collaboration between Switzerland, the EU and / or individual Member States?
