The federal government is committed at both the national and international levels to implementing the 2030 Agenda and to helping to achieve the SDGs. The corresponding programmes are being drawn up under the lead of the government agencies responsible for the individual SDGs.
Implementation by the federal government
The federal government agencies concerned set the necessary priorities and ensure that the appropriate staff and financial resources are in place. The SDGs are closely interwoven, so effective cooperation between the offices involved is crucial. These agencies are thus engaged in constant exchange in order to harness synergies and avoid conflict. Furthermore, overarching strategic coordination and implementation management has been handled since 2018 by the 2030 Agenda Steering Committee, which is composed of agencies from all seven government departments.
