Greetings from the Consul General
Welcome to the website of the Consulate General of Switzerland in Montreal!
I have had the honor of leading the Consulate General of Switzerland since September 2024 and look forward to strengthening its established relations in Eastern Canada.
Our consular district covers a vast territory; it extends beyond Quebec and includes the provinces of Manitoba, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, the territory of Nunavut and the Bahamas. The Consulates in Winnipeg, Toronto, Quebec, Halifax and Nassau, each headed by an Honorary Consul, complete the network of Swiss representations based in our district. While the Consulate General in Vancouver covers Western Canada, all representations operate under the supervision of our Embassy in Ottawa.
My mandate is to promote and to safeguard the interests of Switzerland and its citizens, as well as to develop the harmonious relations that exist between Switzerland and the eastern half of Canada. Established in 1875, we will celebrate the Consulate General’s 150th anniversary, next year. This important milestone will be a unique opportunity to highlight the solid ties that link Switzerland to this magnificent territory.
The Consulate’s activities include economic and commercial affairs supported by its in-house partner, Swiss Business Hub. The Consulate also focusses on culture, education, science and innovation, details for which you may find by consulting our website, a tool that also provides information on consular services and the numerous Swiss clubs established across Canada.
In 2023, two Federal Councilors visited Montreal, thus demonstrating the importance of our relations and the strong link between French-speaking partners. The high-level meetings reinforced our bilateral relations. I aim to keep the momentum going and invite you, fellow citizens, to contribute to the creation of synergies: whatever your profession or background, do not hesitate to share your thoughts to best promote Switzerland.
In closing, I recommend that you register on SwissInTouch to keep informed about consular updates and our activities. Ultimately, this electronic platform will replace the consular newsletter and become our primary method of communication while my team members remain available for your questions or concerns.
On behalf of my colleagues at the Consulate General of Switzerland in Montreal, I wish you a pleasant visit on our website and invite you to share with us any suggestions aimed at improving its content or its user-friendliness.
With my warm regards,
Anne-Béatrice Bullinger
Consul general of Switzerland
