Switzerland participates in the Weeks of the German Language

The Weeks of the German Language feature events of the Embassy of Austria, the Embassy of Germany, the Embassy of Switzerland and the Goethe-Institut Cyprus.  

The programme will be launched on Sunday, 29 October 2017, 10h - 14h with an Opening Festival at Faneromeni Square, old Nicosia

A highlight of the Opening Festival is one of Switzerland’s oldest national sports: flag throwing (weather permitting).

  • The unique Rimini Protokoll creation, Remote Pafos – an invitation to participate in an innovative theatrical performance daily from 3 to 8 November, 15.30h in Pafos.
  • The screenings of the award winning film Das Fräulein by Andrea Štaka:

In Swiss-German, German & Bosnian, Croatian & Serbian; with English subtitles / free entrance.

Synopsis: Ruža came to Switzerland full of hope for a new and better life. Today, more than thirty years later, she has only one passion left: money. Her daily life in Zürich consists of a tightly planned routine - a string of repetitive moments. Then, Ana arrives on the scene with her zest for life and upsets Ruža's painstakingly organized world. A subtle friendship develops between the two strong willed women.
