Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation - General Information on Embassy measures

The Swiss Embassy in Tehran remains open during the current COVID-19 pandemic and will serve its citizens adapted to the current conditions and in line with measures taken by the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Consequently, due to the current coronavirus situation and in order to respect the "physical distance" and the "stay at home" injunctions, operations demanding a direct close contact at the Embassy consular counters will only be available for Swiss citizens and in cases of emergency. 

Please stay in touch and consult our Webpage, Instagram page, and Twitter account; and follow updates on the website of the Federal Office for Public Health.

Should you have any inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us via e-mail tehran@eda.admin.ch or call the Embassy Sunday to Thursday from 9am until 3.30pm (+98 21 2200 8333). Outside of these hours, in case of emergency, Swiss citizens can call the FDFA helpline +41 800 24-7-365 / +41 58 465 33 33 (not for visas).

Entering Switzerland

Since 2 May, it is again possible to enter Switzerland under normal entry regulations. 

There are currently no entry restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. No proof of vaccination, recovery or testing is required for entry into Switzerland.

Travel

Swiss travelers (tourists) or persons residing in Switzerland which are currently in Iran are requested to organize their return to Switzerland independently. For this, we recommend that you contact your travel agency or transport company.

Travel Admin App

The FDFA calls on all Swiss nationals travelling abroad to register on the "Travel Admin App" in order to keep up to date with the latest developments in the country of their current stay.
