The Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan (SCCIJ) is a key player in Swiss-Japan economic relations. Its membership of about 200 includes leading multinational enterprises as well as many small and medium-sized companies. The SCCIJ supports Swiss businesses in Japan and Japanese companies interested in doing business in Switzerland.

After four successful years at the helm of SCCIJ, Mr. Michael Mroczek (Okuno & Partners) on 1 February 2019 took up a new role as Chairman of the European Business Council in Japan, the trade policy arm of 17 European national chambers of commerce and business associations in Japan. His successor, Mr. André Zimmermann (Lindt & Sprüngli Japan) was elected on the occasion of SCCIJ’s Annual General Meeting held on 14 February in Tokyo.

The Embassy of Switzerland is looking forward to continuing its fruitful cooperation with SCCIJ. Among the joint initiatives of the Embassy and SCCIJ, the Switzerland-Japan Economic Forum will take place on 5 March 2019 at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, in partnership with IMD Business School. In the context of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the Forum will be focusing on "Sports Values for Business”.
