Switzerland condemns the act of vandalism against the glass installation of the initiative ‘Dealing with the Past Principles’ .

The Dealing with the Past Principles (DwP Principles Kosovo) is a civic initiative recently promoted by a group of practitioners and civil society organizations in the field of transitional justice. The initiative aims to prevent harmful discourse and actions related to the legacy of the conflict through the respect of ten principles. These principles shall inform and guide political and public actors how to engage with victims, survivors, painful pasts and historical narratives.

As part of the campaign, a glass installation explaining these principles was placed at the center of Pristina this morning. On the same day, this street action became the target of vandalism. Switzerland strongly condemns the demolition of the glass installation and we trusts that police and competent institutions will investigate this act of vandalism.

Switzerland supports the initiative of Dealing with the Past Principles as a part of its efforts to ensure that victims and survivors are protected and as a contribution to the process of healing and reconciliation.
