The objective of the project is to strengthen the capacities of national stakeholders and regional water companies to foster a conducive environment and mainstream climate change resilience into water and wastewater service provision by promoting nonrevenue water reduction (NRW), energy efficiency (EE) and the use of renewable energy (RE). The project thereby also aims to improve operational and financial performance as well as creditworthiness of the Regional Water Companies (RWCs), paving the way to access additional finance (including concessional loans). Consequently, the population of Kosovo benefits from RWCs conducting climate-resilient operations and providing quality water services, thus reducing greenhouse gas emissions and fostering economic development.
