It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the website of the Embassy of Switzerland in Romania and of the Regional Consular Centre South-East Europe which provides you the relevant information on the Embassy’s organization, its services and activities, as well as the latest news about Switzerland and our relationship with Romania.
I have started my mandate here under very favorable premises. Romania and Switzerland enjoy dynamic relations, engaging actively in a fruitful political and economic dialogue including trade, scientific and cultural exchanges. As the official representation of Switzerland in Romania, our Embassy strives to enhance these ties and to promote Swiss interests and values across the country and the region.
The projects carried out in Romania in the framework of the first Swiss contribution to the enlargement of the European Union (2009-2019) have helped to strengthening the bilateral relations between our two countries. The signing of the bilateral framework agreement for the implementation of the second Swiss contribution to Romania (2021-2029), which took place on 12 December 2022 in Bucharest in the presence of HE Ignazio Cassis, President of the Swiss Confederation, allows us to implement new projects to reduce economic and social disparities in Romania. This is an excellent opportunity to strengthen even further our bilateral relations.
At the core of my diplomatic mission in Romania I wish to place the interest of the citizens of our countries and I hope that our Embassy will be a comprehensive service hub for them.
