The Mekong River Basin is vital for millions, and mounting pressures require coordinated transboundary solutions. The Mekong River Commission, as the basin's treaty-based organization, leads this cooperation for sustainable and equitable water management. Drawing on its extensive experience in water diplomacy and integrated water management, Switzerland supports progress on the Basin Development Strategy and the MRC's goal of achieving financial sustainability by 2030.
Municipal Environmental Governance (MEG) Project

The project last phase will ensure consolidation of its previous results and support relevant institutions at different government levels in taking full responsibility for continuing the reforms in the areas of local governance and water sector beyond project duration. El Agua Nos Une – Water Stewardship

El Agua Nos Une, has established a track record of engaging the private sector and facilitating dialogue with public institutions and community actors to address water-related risks and strengthen water governance, using Swiss expertise. In this new phase, it will progress to building broad partnerships (and alliances) which strengthen water governance, leading to a more responsible and sustainable water use, along supply chains in piloted territories of Latin America.

Madagascar, SET Tropical Cyclone Gezani

Madagascar is struggling with the impact of a series of tropical Cyclones to affect the country in a matter of weeks. Cyclone Fytia and Gezani wreaked havoc along the eastern and estern coast before moving inland, leaving at least 38 persons dead. On the evening of 11.02.26, the Malagasy government issued a request for international assistance, on 12.02.26, Switzerland submitted an offer of assistance focusing on WASH, CVA and other sectors depending on the needs.

ALB: Leave No One Behind

Global Fund Core Contribution 2026-2028

Based in Geneva, the Global Fund is the largest multilateral provider of global health grants in low- and middle-income countries. It aims to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, and has saved 65 million lives since 2002, reducing the combined mortality of these three diseases by 61%. Amid global crises and severe cuts to global health funding, renewed international support is vital to protect these gains, foster innovation, and strengthen health security.
Improved Service Delivery for Citizens in Cambodia Phase II (ISD II)

With Swiss added value on democratic governance, the project will support local governments in Cambodia to become more responsive and accountable to their citizens. In four provinces, 18 local administrations will improve essential services such as water and waste management, public services administration and social accountability. By strengthening citizen participation, digital tools, and climate-smart planning, the project contributes to more transparent and efficient local governance.
