CRP Child Rights Programme-Pakistan

Progetto concluso

This programme focuses especially on vulnerable and out-of school children. It supports Pakistan’s National Plan of Action for Children, and the Child Protection and Child Labour policies and is in line with Pakistan’s Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRSP). SDC has been working with the United Nations Fund for Children (UNICEF) on child protection, with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) on child labour and with the Society for the Protection of the Rights of the Child (SPARC), a national NGO, on child rights advocacy and juvenile justice for almost a decade with a total investment of 23.5 Million CHF. To address this problematic in a more comprehensive way the three trusted long-term partners are united under one umbrella, UNICEF, ILO and SPARC under a Child Rights Programme (CRP) with activities in all four provinces (Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and the North West Frontier Province (NWFP)) with a special focus on NWFP, SDC’s traditional focal province. Each partner’s individual goal will contribute to the CRP’s overall goal: (i) Children are protected from abuse, exploitation and violence by supporting the creation and strengthening of child protection and welfare systems (UNICEF); (ii) Elimination of worst forms of child labour by 2016 (ILO); (iii) Child rights enjoy public awareness and support (SPARC).
