Association Centre de Santé Musongati - Food Aid Swiss Dairy Products (Burundi)

Through the usage of food aid in the form of Swiss dairy products, Swiss Humanitarian Aid contributes to the prevention and treatment of malnutrition, undernourishment, and disease. The SDC’s Humanitarian Aid administers the credit granted by parliament for a yearly amount of some CHF 20 million destined for the purchase of Swiss dairy products and their use for the benefit of the needy. Its task is to ensure a sustainable, targeted, and closely monitored food aid.

Biovision

Depuis 1989, Biovision encourage des solutions écologiques pour lutter contre la pauvreté et améliorer la sécurité alimentaire en Afrique. Ce travail à la base est connecté avec un engagement international où des solutions concrètes sont proposées aux décideurs (participation sur les discussions concernant les ODD). Dans ses projets de développement, Biovision adopte l’approche holistique « 4S +i », santé des hommes, des plantes, des animaux et de l’environnement plus la composante information qui permet la diffusion de connaissances parmi la population et la sensibilisation aux enjeux politiques.

La stratégie de coopération internationale 2020 de Caritas s’intitule « End Poverty ». Pour y contribuer Caritas Suisse s’engage en faveur de la justice sociale et de la dignité humaine dans 40 pays avec 250 projets. Le programme de Caritas considère trois aspects dans son programme qui permettent la durabilité du développement humain: couvrir les besoins de base, promouvoir la résilience et créer des opportunités d’égalité en améliorant l’équité. Dans sa conception, Caritas considère la coopération au développement et l’aide humanitaire comme intégrées dans une seule démarche.

Moins de 50% des nigériens ont accès à l’eau potable et seuls 7% disposent de conditions d'assainissement de base. La croissance démographique galopante, la dispersion de la population sur le territoire et la précarité des finances publiques sont des contraintes empêchant l'accès des populations à ces services de base. Le PHRASEA vient en appui aux efforts du gouvernement, en misant sur la maitrise d’ouvrage des communes.

The Swiss contribution supports Diakonia’s International Humanitarian Law Resource Centre (IHLRC) to respond to the demand for accurate and principled legal analysis on International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and International Human Rights Law in the oPt, and to make it accessible to States and relevant organizations to ensure that their policies and international aid are not in contradiction with international law. This intervention is in line with the Swiss Foreign Policy in the Region and SDC Cooperation Strategy 2015-2018 that aims to promote respect for International Law, to ensure protection by all duty-bearers of the rights of the Palestinian population.

This is done through the verification and certification processes of HQAI which acts as an independent organization.

ProJoven: Vocational training for young people at risk of exclusion

In phase II, ProJoven contributes to the labour insertion of approximately 6,000 young people who are at risk in the Central District, the Gulf of Fonseca region, and the Muskitia/Atlantic region. This represents at least 80% of the 7,500 youth trained through a high quality vocational training/labour insertion system aligned with market demands in the production, service and tourism sectors. The training/labour insertion system also incorporates a psycho-social focus to enhance the sustainability of results.
