FarhangSara: Promotion of Cultural and Artistic Expressions

Through promotion of active citizen participation, in particular women and youth, in cultural activities, the project aims to strengthen shared and diverse values as well as peaceful interaction among people. It will collaborate with and enhance the capacity of public and private cultural and arts institutions and civil society organizations as well as female and male artists in five regions of Afghanistan.

Green Initiative for Afghanistan’s Agriculture (GIAA)

Land and water resources in Afghanistan are overexploited and deteriorating fast with severe consequences for rural households. The Green Initiative for Afghanistan’s Agriculture will upscale the professional and institutional capacity for sustainable land and water management to prevent further degradation, improve production and reduce disaster risks, especially in mountainous areas. It will contribute to improved food security and better livelihoods for poor rural families.

IOM Information Management & Policy Development for Durable Solutions for IDPs in Ethiopia

There are over 777’000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Ethiopia today. More than half of them are in the Somali Region and are extremely marginalized. Their specific needs are badly known and the vast majority of the humanitarian and development interventions fail to include them in programming. This SDC contribution to the IOM will improve the availability of evidence-based data on IDPs to inform longer term programming, advocacy and policy development needed to devise durable solutions for protracted IDPs in Ethiopia.

Strengthening the Colombian Mine Action Authority

According to DAICMA, Colombia registered 11,390 landmine victims from 1990 to December 2015 - of which approximately 61 percent are members of the Colombian Public Forces and 39 percent are civilians. Moreover and the country is the 2nd country with greatest production of new victims. There is an urgent need to organize and increase capacity for demining, improve national coordination and deployment of expert civilian organizations capable of designing responses for populations at risk while supporting key government objectives. Colombia acceded to the Ottawa Treaty in 2000, committing to the clearance of all mines by 2021 - after an extension was granted in 2010.

Integrated response to health, nutrition and protection needs in Kibua, Walikale (North Kivu)

The population in targeted areas of North Kivu has been hugely affected by conflict and a large proportion of the population is unable to access basic health, nutrition and protection services when needed. Providing integrated primary health care, nutrition, and protection services to targeted sites in Kibua Health Zone will enable Save the Children (SC) to respond effectively to beneficiary needs using a holistic approach.

Consortium Sécurité alimentaire NO

Programme d’appui à une gouvernance agricole inclusive en Haiti (PAGAI) - Phase 1

Le PAGAI vise l’amélioration de la sécurité alimentaire et du revenu des exploitations agricoles à travers un meilleur accès des producteurs-trices à des services, des innovations susceptibles d’augmenter la performance et la rentabilité économique de l’agriculture familiale en Haïti. L’expérience et l’expertise reconnues de la Suisse dans le renforcement des petites exploitations agricoles permettra l’accompagnement de 10'000 exploitants-tes agricoles et de 30 organisations paysannes dans le Sud d’Haïti afin qu’ils puissent mieux se structurer, jouer des fonctions économiques plus importantes dans les filières agricoles et mieux intégrer les espaces de prise de décision.

Global Malaria Technical & Training Support Package (GlobMal)

In line with the SDC global health strategic priorities, this contribution aims at influencing global malaria policies and implementing WHO and Roll Back Malaria Partnership strategies to regional and country levels, with a focus on vector control, malaria case management, promoting multisectoral actions and strengthening technical capacities. The aim is to improve malaria program’s performance at country level ultimately to reduce the malaria burden and to expand malaria-free zones according to global goals set by WHO.

Kakuma: creare competenze professionali nel cuore di un campo profughi

Attraverso corsi pratici di vario genere, questo progetto pilota della DSC trasmette ai rifugiati e alla popolazione locale di Kakuma conoscenze professionali che permettono loro di guadagnarsi da vivere. Durante la prima fase del progetto, avviato nel 2013, più di 500 giovani hanno ricevuto una formazione. La seconda fase è iniziata l’estate 2016.

Fleeing persecution, violence and armed conflict, mixed migrant groups from Sub-Sahara and the Middle East continue to arrive in Libya despite a fragile protection environment. Due to the ongoing instability and the lack of a national protection system, they are highly vulnerable and risk abuse and detention. The project aims to foster a protective environment for mixed migrants in detention centers and camps in and around Tripoli through improved protection and humanitarian assistance.

Plateforme d'assistance aux migrants dans le Grand Tunis et la région de Sfax

Les populations migrantes en Tunisie recontrent de nombreuses poblématiques d'ordre juridique, social ou administratif. Le projet prévoit une continuité du service de la "Maison du Droit et des Migrations" à Tunis comme lieu de référence, d'acceuil, d'orientation et d'assistance individualisée aux migrants, avec une expansion géographique à Sfax. Comme complément, le projet développera des partenariats avec le secteur public avec un renforcement de capacité de celui-ci et favorisera l'élaboration, de manière conjointe, d'outil d'acoompagnement au profit des migrants vulnérables.

Alleviating suffering of the affected population in Khamer, Yemen, through provision of integrated WASH services

Community feedback to Oxfam mobilisation teams indicated that, while households in Khamer see water as an urgent need, they prioritise income, cash and access to livelihoods opportunities above all in the current volatile conflict. In order to respond to identified needs, Oxfam identified a livelihoods and income generating approach to large scale works that will provide water to communities in a sustainable manner as well as amechanism for income generation and skills training.
