Programme d’appui à la commercialisation du bétail en Afrique de l’Ouest (PACBAO)

L’élevage et les marchés des produits animaux contribuent à l’intégration régionale et à la sécurité alimentaire en Afrique de l’Ouest. La Suisse soutient la Communauté Economique des Etats de l’Afrique de l’Ouest (CEDEAO) et le secteur privé de la région afin de fluidifier les échanges des produits animaux entre les 15 Etats plus le Tchad. La finalité est d’accroitre le revenu des éleveurs, développer des emplois surtout pour les femmes et les jeunes et favoriser une transhumance apaisée dans la région.

Tra le migranti e i migranti provenienti dall’Africa subsahariana e accolti in Marocco, molti hanno subito violenze sessuali durante il percorso. La Svizzera fornisce assistenza medica, aiuto sociale e consulenza psicologica.

IRC/COOPI: Amélioration de la protection et des services de base aux populations déplacées dans la region de Diffa.

L'insurrection meurtrière de Boko Haram a provoqué une sérieuse crise humanitaire dans la région de Diffa. Cettre crise s'ajoute à la situation de précarité chronique et de pauvreté généralisée qui frappe la région. L'action proposée par COOPI et IRC à Diffa est de renforcer les activités de protection des déplacés résidant dans les familles d'acceuil, dans les camps de réfugiés et dans les sites spontanés et d'assurer leur accès à l'eau potable dans un environnement sain.

Protection of Orphans and Vulnerable children in Zimbabwe

The project aims at consolidating social protection in Zimbabwe in order to reduce widespread household poverty, provide basic needs, care and support to the most vulnerable children, especially those affected and infected by HIV/AIDS. In the context of continued political instability and economic collapse in Zimbabwe, SDC will continue to engage through the multi-donor trust fund “Child Protection Fund” managed by UNICEF.

Promoting off-farm employment and income in the Great Lakes Region through climate responsive construction material production

High demographic growth in the Great Lakes increases the competition for scarce natural resources and boosts the demand for affordable housing. The project aims at triggering local economic development, improving working conditions and increasing off-farm employment through climate responsive building material production. Results of the first phase allow for a technology transfer adjusted to local needs and scaling up of the brick production value chains in the region.

Vegetables Go to School (VGtS)

School vegetable garden programs are established in Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Indonesia, Nepal and Philippines. They aim at improving children’s knowledge and awareness about the importance of vegetable consumption for a healthy diet and of sanitation and hygienic measures for their healthy development. Scientific evidence on the influence of such school vegetable garden programs on the children is gathered and used for policy discussions on how to effectively improve school children’s nutritional status.

2030 Water Resources Group

Water scarcity is an increasing concern for many governments in developing countries. 2030 Water Resources Group (WRG) helps governments in developing countries to manage water resources to safely deliver the water needed for human beings, for the environment as well as for economic growth. The goal of this last phase is to consolidate the work of 2030 Water Resources Group as well as incorporate perspectives from the private sector and economic growth into the water dialogue.

Strengthening and sustaining results for children and women in fragile, conflict-affected as well as climate and disaster-prone contexts

UNICEF through its 138 Country offices (CO) supports governments (especially at local level) and partners to reduce risk and strengthen resilience. To achieve this, UNICEF is currently increasing its focus on fragility and supports disaster risk reduction (DRR), climate change adaptation (CCA) and peacebuilding (PB) while also promoting a multi-hazard approach to Risk Informed Programming (RIP).

Promotion des mutuelles de santé au Tchad

Au Tchad moins de 25% de la population a accès à des services de santé de base insuffisants et de faible qualité. Afin de faciliter l’accès financier des populations aux soins, la DDC soutient le développement d’un réseau de mutuelles de santé au sud du pays. Quelques 150.000 personnes auront accès à des services de santé de qualité et les bases d’une mise à l’échelle nationale des mutuelles seront établies. La DDC contribuera ainsi à la réalisation de la Couverture Sanitaire Universelle (CSU) au Tchad.

Per i Paesi dell’Africa australe El Niño è sinonimo di una catastrofe climatica senza precedenti. La siccità ha distrutto milioni di ettari di terre coltivabili e gli abitanti di un’intera regione sono minacciati dall’insicurezza alimentare. Il Lesotho è stato il primo Paese a far suonare il campanello d’allarme. La DSC ha sbloccato un milione di franchi per sostenere le operazioni del Programma alimentare mondiale (PAM) delle Nazioni Unite, che può contare anche sull’aiuto di esperti svizzeri.

In line with the Good Humanitarian Donorship (GHD) principles, Switzerland recognizes the necessity of predictable and flexible funding to respond to changing needs in humanitarian crises. SDC funding to WFP operations allows the World Food Programme (WFP) to respond proactively and to provide immediate food assistance in life-threatening situations.

ACTED: Cluster Food Security 2016-2017

Par son appui financier au projet d’ACTED de co-facilitation du Cluster Sécurité Alimentaire, la DDC souhaite contribuer au renforcement du système de coordination en RCA, par l’association des ONGs aux côtés des Nations Unies, afin d’assurer une direction responsable de la réponse et une coordination sectorielle efficace de l’action humanitaire dans le domaine de la sécurité alimentaire.
