The project contributes to sustainable economic growth and thus Job creation and increased incomes, especially for youth and women, in Jalal-Abad Oblast of Southern Kyrgyzstan. lt will focus on the development of selected value chains and the promotion of local economic development with the aim to enhance the competitiveness of targeted businesses and export sectors and, complementarily, to promote a business enabling environment as a precondition for private sector growth.

Siccità, carenza di foraggio e conflitti per il controllo delle risorse naturali rendono grama la vita degli allevatori di bestiame nel Sud dell’Etiopia. Per migliorare la loro sicurezza alimentare e la capacità di resilienza in caso di crisi, la DSC ha adottato una serie di misure che vanno dal risanamento dei pascoli e dei pozzi all’introduzione di piani di utilizzazione e alla creazione di nuove fonti di reddito per le donne.

Jebel Mara WASH and Health Improvement Project

The humanitarian operation in Sudan is one of the largest in the world. According to the 2015 Humanitarian response Plan, 5.4 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance in different parts of the country, particularly in Darfur, South-Kordofan and Blue Nile State. In Darfur, fighting in 2014 has led to the displacement of 430’000 persons. That is more than in any single year since the height of the conflict in 2004. This phase of the project will be implemented in the wider region of Jebel Mara in Central Darfur. The current phase of the project runs for 19 months and will further build the capacity of IDPs, Host Communities and Public Institutions in the fields of WASH and Basic Health Services.

I servizi agricoli e finanziari tramite telefono cellulare e i partenariati tra attori pubblici e privati sono oggi strumenti promettenti per raggiungere milioni di persone. Agri-Fin Mobile, un progetto che in Indonesia, Uganda e Zimbabwe offre servizi agricoli e di microfinanziamento via cellulare, raggiungerà circa 280’000 piccoli agricoltori.

En los últimos cinco años el programa Biocultura ha elaborado un enfoque compatible con el medio ambiente para el desarrollo con las comunidades rurales, conocido en Bolivia como el "Vivir Bien". Tambien ha contribuido a la definición de un marco legal sobre el tema del cambio climático.  En la segunda fase de su implementación 15.000 familias en 400 comunidades han recibido apoyo para asimilar el cambio climático, y además se ha realizado capacitaciones nacionales para una gestión eficiente y transparente del presupuesto climatico nacional.

Assistance en protection et en sécurité alimentaire aux personnes déplacées internes et aux retournés dans la province du Nord Kivu, RDC

Le présent projet vise à mettre en œuvre des activités qui seront une intersection entre les opérations d’urgence et les opérations de résilience et de stabilisation en Territoire de Masisi, au Nord Kivu. Les activités d’urgence comprennent la gestion de l’information, de gestion des sites de déplacement et de coordination humanitaire. Les actions de stabilisation comprennent  des activités de relance agricole et économique qui seront menées dans les zones de retour.

Médecins du Monde Belgique: Tamkine Migrants (Promouvoir l’intégration médicale des femmes migrantes au Maroc)

La nouvelle politique migratoire présentée par le Maroc en septembre 2013 offre une opportunité pour la concrétisation de la volonté du pays de respecter ses engagements internationaux envers les migrants et leur intégration. Pour des raisons administratives, financières ou par manque de capacités, les institutions marocaines ne sont pas encore en mesure de généraliser leur prestations aux femmes migrantes vulnérables. Ce projet vise à améliorer l’accès médico-psycho-social des femmes migrantes au Maroc (Rabat et Oujda) en institutionnalisant et transférant le savoir-faire de la société civile aux structures publiques.

Mitigating the impact of the Syrian refugee crisis on Jordanian vulnerable host communities

Tensions are increasing between the Jordanian host population and Syrian refugees. This project will put local organisations and municipalities in a better position to address these rising tensions. Thanks to this project, a funding mechanism will be set up to support projects which will increase social cohesion and acceptance between host and refugee populations.

Anti-Corruption Support

This intervention aims at fostering an institutional and social environment that is increasingly adverse to corruption. Support to reform-oriented “duty bearers” – by strengthening the technical and procedural capacities of the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB) - will be combined with activities enhancing collective action by supporting the private sector for a more transparent business environment and a multi-media campaign inspiring behaviour change of citizens (“right holders”) to strengthen integrity.

WASH Emergency Basis Schools Gaza (TdH)

The project aims at improving the health environment conditions of the students in public schools and to contribute to restore minimum standards of access to safe drinking water and appropriate sanitation facilities through emergency rehabilitation of the water infrastructures and sewage networks. The project will be implemented by Terre des hommes in coordination with the Ministries of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) and the selected schools. The project is a direct contribution to the emergency and early recovery efforts in the Gaza Strip.

Mainstreaming Social Accountability in Mongolia (MASAM)

The project aims to mainstream social accountability for more transparent, accountable and effective public resource management at national and local levels by (1) increasing the capacity of CSOs to hold government to account; and (2) strengthening the institutionalization of social accountability by improving the effectiveness, formalization and sustainability of disclosure and participation mechanisms. Through social accountability, citizens in poor localities will have increased access to public decision-making processes and quality services.

Alternative Nobel Prize

The Right Livelihood Award (RLA) or so-called “Alternative Nobel Prize” is bestowed to individuals that offer concrete solutions to global challenges including sustainable development and poverty eradication. The contribution of SDC aims to establish a second RLA Foundation office in Geneva which will allow the RLA Foundation and the laureates to reach out and better network with the Geneva-based UN organizations, civil society, research community and media.
