Improved availability of quality psychosocial support for affected children in Syria
01.12.2014
- 31.05.2016
The impact of almost four years of conflict has been devastating for millions of Syrian children. Over 5 million children are in need of humanitarian assistance - 3.5 million children are internally displaced. Children have witnessed and experienced extreme violence; many have lost one or both parents. The crisis has taken the lives of over 191,000 people. These horrifying facts are recognized worldwide, less known are the long term consequences . that the conflict will have on children. Without any doubt the psychological scars of war on children in particular, will take the longest time to heal. They will require continued efforts to ensure children are provided with the psychosocial support they need for a long time to come. The project aims at reaching a total of 70,000 children affected by the conflict in Aleppo, Hassakeh and Rural Damascus to receive improved protection and psychosocial support services.
