SomReP, Somalia: Resilience Programme Consortium

In the fragile and conflict affected context of Somalia, SDC contribution to the Somalia Resilience Programme Consortium (SomReP) enables pastoral, agro-pastoral and peri-urban poor to increase their ability to prepare for, adapt to and live through shocks without eroding their productivity or assets. While focusing on capacity building, livelihood diversification and the elaboration of community-based early warning systems, this initiative is complementary to ongoing resilience and emergency relief oriented interventions.

Contribution au CAS en étude de développement de la Suisse Italienne

La DDC soutient les programmes de certificates of advanced studies (CAS) et de masters en étude de développement offerts par l’École Polytechnique Fédérale de Zurich (EPFZ ; NADEL) ou par l’Institut des Hautes Études Internationales et de Développement à Genève (IHEID). Ces formations revêtent un rôle tout particulier dans la formation de la relève de professionnels de la coopération. Avec une contribution au « CAS Suisse Italienne », l’offre de formation dans la région sera accrue, ce qui permettra de promouvoir la relève de jeunes professionnels italophones dans le domaine de la coopération inernationale.

Nutrition in Mountain Agro-Ecosystems (NMA)

A disproportionally high number of the world's 2 Billion hungriest and chronically malnourished people reside in mountain regions. SDC supports the establishment of a Mountain Agro-ecology Action Network by the International Federation on Organic Agriculture Movement (IFOAM) and consortium which will facilitate the integration of nutrition sensitive practices into service delivery and policies. Triggering consumer demand for diversified diets and diversified agricultural production shall lead to improved nutrition and resilience for half a million people, particularly women and children.

Le Maroc est touché par des inondations et sécheresses toujours plus fréquentes liées au changement climatique, affectant surtout les populations vulnérables. De plus, le pays fait face à la surexploitation et dégradation de la qualité de ses eaux, une source de conflit et un danger futur élevé pour la population. La contribution suisse renforce la mise en œuvre d’une gestion intégrée de la ressource en eau au niveau stratégique national et au travers d’un appui technique dans la région particulièrement vulnérable du Souss.

Transparency International Bangladesh: Building Integrity Blocks for Effective Change

Transparency International Bangladesh promotes improved governance in selected institutions of integrity (parliament, judiciary, etc.) and five sectors providing basic services to the people (education, health, local governance, land, climate finance) as well as it strengthens its grassroots movement in order to reduce corruption for the benefit of the poor and the marginalised.

HIV Prevention Program - Community Systems for integrated HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights

This HIV prevention program of the Southern African Aids Trust will strengthen the capacities of communities in mapping and addressing HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) needs of especially adolescents, young people and women in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Botswana and Malawi. It will support the Ministries of Health and Education at country level and advocate for regional policies and frameworks at SADC level to improve integrated service delivery of HIV and SRHR.

Un progetto della DSC risolve entrambi i problemi adottando un approccio integrato in un settore molto promettente.

Con il progetto s’intende migliorare a lungo termine l'approvvigionamento idrico non solo per le 720'000 persone che vivono nello Stato sud sudanese del Bahr el Ghazal settentrionale, ma anche per il loro bestiame. Questa regione, che confina con il Nord , è una delle più povere al mondo e dal 2005, anno in cui è stato firmato l’accordo di pace tra il Nord e il Sud , è stata teatro di uno dei più massicci rientri di sfollati sud sudanesi.

The five decades-long armed conflict in Colombia continues to cause humanitarian consequences such as internal displacement and limited access to basic services. Due to their abundance of natural resources and strategic location near the border of Ecuador and the Pacific, the southwestern departments of Valle del Cauca, Cauca and Nariño are caught up in a scenario of armed confrontation fuelled by the cultivation, production and trafficking of drugs and illegal mining. To improve its living conditions, the affected rural population needs international support in the domains of water and sanitation, housing and livelihoods, as well as protection.

The overall objective of the Civil Society Support Facility – Constituency Building project is to contribute to enhanced engagement of CSOs with their constituents and to joint agenda setting to promote positive social change in Macedonia. Through enhanced levels of organisation and legitimacy CSOs will be enabled to promote good governance at national level and improve accountability of the state towards citizens – elements which are crucial to building a more transparent and democratic society.

Community Forums - Exit Phase

The Community Forum instrument has been introduced as a mechanism for citizen participation in decision making at local level, thus fulfilling an institutional gap in the context of good governance in the country. The concept was developed through several phases and was applied in two third of the Macedonian municipalities. To foster sustainability the exit phase focuses on independently organised Forums and on the knowhow transfer to the municipalities association.

The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) is the largest corporate responsibility platform worldwide, working towards the vision of a sustainable and inclusive global economy that delivers lasting benefits to people, communities and markets. Switzerland has been a major supporter of the UNGC from its inception and with this sixth phase core contribution is supporting the implementation of the UNGC’s 2014–2016 strategy, aiming at (1) mainstreaming the Global Compact’s ten principles in business strategies around the world; and (2) catalysing business action in support of UN goals and issues.
