South Sudan, FAO, Improving nutrition and resilience in Warrap

01.08.2014 - 30.06.2016

Due to insecurity and displacement, many people were not able to attend their fields and gardens during the planting season, which will affect harvests towards the end of the year. Under the goal to boost sustainable agriculture, the main objective of this project is to increase the resilience (food security, livelihoods and income) of 1350 households and to improve production, food availability and access of nutritious food sources in Warrap State. By targeting an area that is affected by food insecurity but is relatively stable, the project aims at improving food security in the area and reducing the dependency on food aid.

WHO - Emergency drugs supplies

25.07.2014 - 24.01.2015

Today hospitals in Gaza are ill-prepared to meet the critical needs arising from a wide-scale emergency, because the health sector in the Strip is already suffering from a chronic shortage of medical supplies and fuel for years. In order to prevent the collapse of the Palestinian health system, to mitigate the effects of the supply shortages and to respond to the emergency situation prevailing in Gaza due to the heavy shelling causing thousands of civilians causalities, SDC is responding to a WHO emergency humanitarian appeal that will serve to purchase medical supplies to cover the needs of at least 37.000 patients.
