Local Gouvernance Initative and Network (LOGIN)
10 member countries of the LOGIN network gain knowledge through peer learning and apply learning in their practice. As a result they are able to fulfill assigned responsibilities more effectively and advance implementation of jointly identified DLG reform priorities. The network approach will serve as instrument for promoting cross-country learning and linkage building. Establishing synergies and complementarity between LOGIN activities and SDC programs has the potential to advance reforms and to increase scale and effectiveness of SDC programs.

Hintergrund |
Impressive economic growth rates and labor market transitions across Asia are in stark contrast to trends of growing inequality, persistent poverty, conflict and state fragility. Poor management of public resources, limited access to public services, unequal share of economic benefits and exclusive decision making processes create tensions and undermine the Governments’ legitimacy. On this backdrop, pressure for reforms aimed at greater decentralization, public oversight and participation increased and all countries of South and East Asia have embarked in respective reforms. In the majority of South and East Asia countries, SDC is supporting ongoing reform and partnerships have resulted in a considerable amount of first experiences. To harvest available good practice across countries, a regional peer learning program on decentralization and local governance was launched, the ‘Local Governance Initiative South Asia (LOGIN). |
