The Landwehr is the official concert and marching band of the canton and the city of Freiburg/Fribourg and its ambassador throughout the world. It performs at formal and historical events and enthuses audiences in the most prestigious halls. With a remarkable history starting in 1804, this international wind orchestra is constantly expanding new musical horizons. In addition to performing nationally and internationally, Landwehr also trains young musicians at its music school to ensure that the tradition is carried forward in the future generations.
Landwehr will tour from 14th to 25th October 2018 India. They will play concert in the cities of New Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Mumbai. The concerts will be conducted by Benedikt Hayoz.

On occasion of the 70 Years of Swiss Indian Friendship, a special bus, spreading the message of friendship, understanding, respect and inclusiveness was launched on 6th March 2018 at the Embassy of Switzerland. The bus begins the second phase of its journey and travels through 16 states in Northern and Eastern India.

Avanti Devasthale is a translator/storyteller all rolled into one. She brings to you “Heidi”, originally written by Swiss author Johanna Spyri and translated in Hindi by Avanti.
Within the framework of an Indo-Swiss research project on the public acceptance and environmental impacts of fossil fuel subsidy reform, researchers from Switzerland and India will share their results on LPG consumption among beneficiaries of the Indian Government’s Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana programme (PMUY), and the potential impact of LPG uptake on health. A high-level expert panel discussion will put the results in a broader perspective and relate them to political and practical issues of implementation.
