The finely curated book «Swiss Design Stories» is a new initiative of the Embassy of Switzerland in Japan with the aim to promote awareness of Swiss design in Japan. It documents human encounters and artistic exchanges between Japan and Switzerland in the eld of design and architecture.

Two stories stand out in particular: the collaboration between Le Corbusier and his Japanese colleagues who built the «National Museum of Western Art» in Tokyo, and the partnership between Swiss graphic designer Josef Müller-Brockmann and Japanese artist Shizuko Yoshikawa. Swiss furniture company USM and watchmaker Breitling, who supported the project, are also highlighted in two separate features.

All stories are accompanied by exclusive interviews and newly produced editorials. They venture beyond the subject of Swiss design to touch on some essential aspects of life itself.

Edited by Tomoya Yoshida, designed by Takahiro Kurashima, Texts: Nagata Toshinobu and Ichiro Saga.
