What we do
The Swiss Federal Police Liaison Office in Washington, D.C. assists the Swiss, U.S and Canadian Law Enforcement and Prosecution Authorities in the exchange of information by setting-up and fostering a comprehensive and effective contact network. It also evaluates and reports criminal police and justice developments in the U.S. and Canada and acts as an advisory desk for both Swiss Ambassadors in the U.S. and Canada on homeland security and law enforcement matters. The Police Attaché is an Officer of the Swiss Federal Office of Police (fedpol), an agency of the Swiss Federal Department of Justice and Police (FDJP), whose main task is the fight against terrorism and its financing, cyber and organized crime, money laundering, illegal drugs and human trafficking, amongst other serious crimes. The Police Attaché also represents Switzerland’s Interpol National Central Bureau (NCB) in both the U.S. and Canada.
