Allocation of SDC Funding to ICRC Operations in 2020

SDC funding to ICRC operations allows the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to respond proactively and to provide immediate protection and assistance for people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence. In line with the Good Humanitarian Donorship (GHD) principles, Switzerland recognizes the necessity of predictable and flesible funding to respond to chaning needs in humanitarian crises.

Hintergrund The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose excludively humanitarian mission to ensure protection and assistance for victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence. The ICRC is Switzerland's main humanitarian partner in the field of international humanitarian aid.
Ziele Providing immediate protection and assistance for all people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence.
Zielgruppen Victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence.
Mittelfristige Wirkungen The ICRC is committedto responding rapidly and efficiently to the humanitarian need of people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence by protecting the lives and dignity of all victims. The ICRC also enddeavours to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles.
Resultate

Erwartete Resultate:   Protection and assistance is provided for all people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence.
