8.30 pm at the PROGR in Bern
Artlink, the office for cultural cooperation, is celebrating its 30th anniversary. The SDC has supported Artlink for many years. The Senegalese musician Kara Sylla Ka will give a concert at the PROGR artistic and cultural centre in Bern as part of the celebrations.
Founded 30 years ago, Artlink – the office for cultural cooperation – has established itself as the Swiss centre of competence for art and culture from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. Artlink documents, promotes and acts as a focal point for professional artists from these regions, raising their profile in Switzerland and promoting intercultural cooperation. The SDC has supported Artlink's work since its inception.
The Südkulturfonds, managed by Artlink since 2010 on a mandate basis from the SDC, allocates CHF 725,000 every year to enable around 450 productions and performances by foreign artists to take place in Switzerland.
As part of the Artlink anniversary celebrations, the Senegalese musician Kara Sylla Ka will give a concert at the PROGR artistic and cultural centre in Bern.
The work of the musician, singer, dancer and choreographer, who is based in Geneva, combines elements of folk, blues and afrobeat.
The concert is open to the public (entrance fee applicable).
