Ambassador of Switzerland to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Bénédict de Cerjat, paid a courtesy call on the Foreign Secretary, Mr. Sohail Mahmood last Friday. The Foreign Secretary congratulated Ambassador for Switzerland’s election to United Nations Security Council in June this year and acknowledged Switzerland’s international role in the multilateral arena as well as the country’s significant role in humanitarian and peace-building efforts.
Ambassador de Cerjat highlighted that Switzerland is among the top investors in Pakistan. Major Swiss companies are doing good business in Pakistan, and more are interested in exploring Pakistan for partnerships and further investments. They also discussed cooperation in various fields, particularly collaboration in science and technology. FS Mahmood called Switzerland a vital partner and appreciated Ambassador de Cerjat’s efforts in advancing the ties between the two countries.
