SOM, OCHA, Somalia Humanitarian Fund (SHF 2017)

The Somalia Humanitarian Fund (SHF) is a pooled-fund managed by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). With this contribution, Switzerland will ensure that the most vulnerable women, men and children affected by the severe drought prevailing in Somalia and living in high level food insecurity situations receive timely, targeted and life-saving assistance.

Priority themes WASH and Protection 2017

In the frame of the dispatch 2017-2020, 4 priority themes have been defined for the SDC/HA domain, namely DRR, SGBV, WASH and Protection, the two latter ones being hosted by the Africa H division. This CP will fund several activities implemented for the whole SDC/HA domain in order to increase the impact and coherence of priority themes such as defined in the operational concepts adopted by the HA domain in 2016.

L’accesso all’acqua potabile: una sfida per il Tagikistan

La metà degli 8,5 milioni di abitanti del Tagikistan, il paese più povero dell’Asia centrale, non ha accesso all’acqua potabile enelle aree montane e rurali il dato è del 80%. Una situazione che implica un rischio molto elevato per la salute pubblica. Il progetto della DSC «Safe Drinking Water and Sanitation Management in Tajikistan (SWSMT)» si concentra sull’accesso all’acqua potabile e alle reti idrico-fognarie nel Tagikistan orientale.

Through the usage of food aid in the form of Swiss dairy products, Swiss Humanitarian Aid contributes to the prevention and treatment of malnutrition, undernourishment, and disease. The SDC’s Humanitarian Aid administers the credit granted by parliament for a yearly amount of some CHF 20 million destined for the purchase of Swiss dairy products and their use for the benefit of the needy. Its task is to ensure a sustainable, targeted, and closely monitored food aid.

Programme Régional Interinstitutionnel pour la Qualité de l’Education (PRIQUE)

La qualité de l’éducation de base est un enjeu majeur en Afrique de l’Ouest tout comme le respect du droit à l’éducation de centaines de milliers d’enfants et de jeunes. Des alternatives éducatives ont été créées à leur intention, utilisant les langues nationales, des pédagogies actives, des contenus adaptés. Le Programme Régional Interinstitutionnel pour la Qualité de l’Education (PRIQUE) permet aux Etats et aux ONG de former des experts nationaux afin qu’ils améliorent la qualité et l’équité des systèmes éducatifs.
