Advancement of priority topic SGBV in SDC/HA

Sexual and Gender-based Violence (SGBV) is a serious, life-threatening issue in humanitarian settings and a new priority topic of SDC/HA. The intervention aims at promoting this new priority topic within SDC/HA through targeted, strategic interventions and on the basis of the operational concept on SGBV approved by SDC/HA in 2016. While this credit proposal sets the framework and criteria for such strategic interventions the individual actions will be administered by partial actions.

Projet Oriental Protection Migrants Maroc

Morocco is a country of transit and destination for migrants and refugees, 20’000 of which live on the margins of society, despite the 2014 adopted first ever migration strategy, promising the respect of human rights and access to public services. The “Projet Oriental” facilitates access to health care and provides humanitarian support to 5’600 vulnerable migrants per year and coaches public and civil society service providers to care for the specific needs of the migrants.

Libya remains trapped in a protracted economic crisis, insecurity, and political deadlock leading to an increase in vulnerabilities and in the number of people in need of humanitarian assistance. As estimated by the Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) Libya (2017), 1.33 million people, including some 439,000 children, are in immediate need of humanitarian aid and protection and 241,000 children require quality education.

Efficace gestione e prevenzione delle malattie non trasmissibili

Secondo l’Organizzazione mondiale della sanità (OMS), le malattie non trasmissibili (MNT) sono la principale causa di morte a livello mondiale. In base alla media internazionale, il 60% dei decessi è dovuto a questo tipo di patologie. Nei Paesi a basso o medio reddito, questa percentuale è spesso molto più elevata. È il caso del Kirghizistan, dove le malattie cardiovascolari, il cancro e il diabete sono responsabili dell’80% dei decessi.

En tant qu’organisation de développement des églises protestantes suisses, Pain pour le Prochain a le mandat d’informer et de former, de s’engager dans la politique de développement et d’assurer la qualité. Pain pour le Prochain et les onze œuvres partenaires forment une communauté de coopération (KoGe)[1] qui est un réseau d’apprentissage avec des objectifs spécifiques. Ce réseau permet notamment de joindre le travail de politique de développement en Suisse et le travail au Sud. Son objectif commun est de contribuer à une transformation du système et des comportements économiques, sociaux, politiques et écologiques. Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV)

To contest the increasing problem of drug resistance and to accelerate malaria elimination, new drugs against malaria are needed. The Geneva-based Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) drives the discovery, development and implementation of new antimalarial drugs. Working with pharmaceutical, academic and affected country partners, MMV reduces costs and ensures affordable and equitable access to quality medicines by vulnerable groups at risk of malaria, in particular children and pregnant women.

Effective water resources management requires data management capacities for proper decision-making at different scales. In this context, a modern, Multi-Level Distributed Water Information Systems is a management instrument that provides stakeholders’ gateways for judicious and sustainable water resources management. The project is aiming at introducing such a modern management information system in transboundary Chu and Talas river basins to improve water accountability and transparency.
