On Friday, 19 April, President Viola Amherd met President Tamás Sulyok, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Parliamentary Speaker László Kövér in Budapest to discuss bilateral relations, the European policy of both countries and the European security situation. Hungary will assume the EU Council presidency in the second half of the year.

Swiss Ambassador Jean-François Paroz, representing Switzerland, and Hungarian Minister for Regional Development, Dr. Tibor Navracsics, representing Hungary, officially signed the Framework Agreement for the second Swiss-Hungarian Cooperation Programme on 8 November 2022, as part of Switzerland’s second contribution to selected EU member states. Since 19th of December 2022 the Framework Agreement has been provisionally applied and it has taken effect as of the 26th of January 2023.
