Hintergrund |
The PCBS was established soon after the PA emerged following the Oslo agreement of 1993. Since establishment, it has served as a pillar in the national development process, illuminating resources, needs and changes in the occupied Palestinian territory. Its statistics and reports are widely used for research and planning purposes, by national and international, governmental, non-governmental and private institutions, and individuals. The PCBS Advisory Council, headed by the Prime Minister, meets semi-annually to review national priorities in official statistics.
