Switzerland launches appeal to mitigate sharp decline in remittances to low-income countries

Discussions on how to mitigate the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on low-income countries have gained considerable momentum in recent months. Remittances from migrants and wider diaspora communities to their countries of origin are a key issue in this respect. Switzerland is therefore launching an appeal to keep remittance channels open and give the poorest communities continued access to these vital sources of income.
