Assistance to refugees in Yusuf Batil Camp through the provision of life-saving nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene services
Projekt abgeschlossen
Yusuf Batil Camp is the second largest refugee camp in the Maban area of South Sudan, with a population of 41,082 (UNHCR, October 2016). Due to low government capacity to provide services, refugees depend on United Nations (UN) and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO) partners to provide all essential services such as water, sanitation, emergency nutrition and health care.

Hintergrund | South Sudan currently hosts 261,500 refugees (HRP, 2017), the majority coming from Sudan and residing mainly in Upper Nile and Unity States. (UNHCR, Oct 2016). The host communities have experienced multiple displacements themselves and therefore have limited capacities to support the refugees. With the ongoing conflict in their home country, the refugee population find themselves in a protracted emergency situation. |
