Grands Lacs: Fonds régional Actions urgentes
A small action is a one-off contribution to a humanitarian endeavour with no following phase that has to be operationally completed within a maximum period of 12 months. It is a flexible, efficient and transparent tool for SDC HA to support small humanitarian activities, including emergency response.

Background |
The Great Lakes region is extremely volatile and fragile. The state of precariousness encourages political instability and recurring conflicts in the cases of Burundland the DRC. SDC and its offices in Kigali, Bujumbura and Bukavu are often approached by different agencies and NGOs with requests for the funding of a variety of humanitarian activities, including emergency response. Many projects are of limited scale requiring financial support of a few thousand Swiss Francs only. |
Objectives |
The objectives of the program Small actions grant line is to provide the Regional Cooperation Office in the Great Lakes region with a simple and flexible quick Instrument to address clear humanitarian needs of the targeted beneficiaries as well as addressing windows of opportunities within the Great Lakes Region. |

Results |
